About treatment
HIFU (ULTRAcel [zíː]) is a treatment device that utilizes High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) technology to precisely target and heat specific areas, stimulating the regeneration and activation of collagen and fibroblasts.
Its key advantage is the ability to non-invasively deliver heat to the SMAS (superficial musculoaponeurotic system)—a layer that is difficult to reach with energy-based devices such as lasers, IPL (light therapy), radiofrequency, or infrared treatments.
Because it can lift the SMAS layer—a result previously achievable only with invasive surgical facelifts or thread lifts—this treatment is often referred to as a “non-surgical facelift.”

4 Key Points of HIFU (ULTRAcel [zíː])
01. Collagen Regeneration
Fibroblasts, which produce collagen in the dermis and subcutaneous layers—the key to firm and hydrated skin—gradually decrease and weaken over time. The focused thermal energy of ULTRAcel [zíː] contracts existing collagen fibers, providing an immediate skin-tightening effect after treatment.
Additionally, by stimulating collagen production, the treatment promotes new collagen formation for up to six months, delivering sustained, long-term rejuvenation.
02. Tightening of Sagging SMAS (Muscle Layer)
One major cause of facial sagging is the loosening of the SMAS (superficial musculoaponeurotic system)—the layer located between the fat and muscle.
ULTRAcel [zíː] precisely delivers focused heat to this layer, creating controlled thermal coagulation points that cause the SMAS to contract.
As a result, patients experience a noticeable lifting and tightening effect immediately after treatment.
03. Dissolves Fat Cells for a Slimmer Look
In the Linear Mode of ULTRAcel [zíː], the target layer is set to the subcutaneous fat tissue, where the delivered thermal energy destroys (dissolves) fat cells and promotes their natural elimination.
This mode uses a specialized HIFU cartridge called Linear Firm, which focuses on thicker fat layers—such as under the chin—to induce fat burning.
By alternating between Dot Mode and Linear Mode, treatments can be customized with optimal depths and temperatures for each patient, enabling more effective lifting and facial contouring results.
Dot Mode can be performed one month after a Linear Mode session, allowing for a combined treatment that achieves enhanced facial slimming effects.
(Note: After Dot Mode, at least six months should be left before the next Dot or Linear session to allow for proper tissue recovery.)
Please note that Linear Mode uses a different cartridge and targets different areas than Dot Mode.

脂肪What is Linear Firm, the HIFU treatment with a linear emission method specialized for fat dissolution?溶解専用の線状照射HIFU、Linear Firm(リニアファーム)とは
Linear Firm is a treatment that uses HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) technology with a linear emission method designed to efficiently target fat layers, such as those under the chin.
Unlike traditional dot-type HIFU devices originally developed for lifting and skin tightening, Linear Firm focuses on fat dissolution, delivering uniform heat across a wide area of subcutaneous fat in a single pass.
It is capable of reaching the optimal temperature required for fat melting more effectively than conventional HIFU systems, making it ideal for those seeking localized fat reduction—such as the double chin, bra fat, or fat above the knees.
To ensure natural and balanced results, we conduct thorough counseling to avoid reducing fat in areas you wish to preserve.

04. Visible results with minimal pain — no anesthesia required
The reason many other HIFU devices are said to be “painful” is that they deliver energy at excessively high temperatures—well above the level needed to trigger collagen denaturation—causing an intense heat sensation.
With ULTRAcel [zíː], energy is delivered at a stable temperature of around 63°C, just above the threshold for collagen denaturation (60°C). This minimizes discomfort while still achieving effective skin tightening, allowing most patients to undergo treatment without anesthesia.
(Differences in focal depth and precision of energy delivery also contribute to reduced pain.)
※Pain tolerance varies among individuals.

Evolution from ULTRAcel Q+ to ULTRAcel [zíː]
The latest model of ULTRAcel Q+, the [zíː], has been significantly upgraded in functionality to further enhance treatment effectiveness.
Can also be applied to fine lines and sagging around the eyes
The area around the eyes has traditionally been difficult to treat due to its thin skin and limited treatment area.
With ULTRAcel [zíː], a specialized cartridge for the eye area has been developed, allowing precise treatment of fine lines and sagging around the eyes.
Reduced Treatment Time
The treatment speed of ULTRAcel [zíː] has been reduced to about half that of ULTRAcel Q+ in Linear Mode, while maintaining the same level of effectiveness.
Even with a three-pass full-face treatment, the procedure takes only about 5 minutes, making it one of the fastest treatments for lifting and tightening that reaches the SMAS layer, allowing patients to return home quickly.

FAQ
-
How long does the treatment take?
-
The treatment time varies depending on the procedure and targeted areas. For a full-face lift using approximately 400 shots, the average treatment time is about 15-20 minutes.
It may take slightly longer depending on the design and specific shooting technique. For more details, please consult your physician or clinic staff.
-
Is the treatment painful?
-
Pain perception varies from person to person, but you may feel a slight warming sensation.
If you are concerned, please consult with your physician.
-
Is there any downtime after the treatment?
-
There is no downtime. You can apply makeup immediately after the treatment.
In rare cases, temporary redness, swelling, or itching may occur, but these are short-lived and resolve on their own.
-
Can I receive this treatment after Botox or filler injections?
-
If you are planning to receive treatments such as Botox or filler injections, it is recommended to have them after ULTRAcel [zíː]. Please consult with your physician.
-
When can I expect to see results?
-
You may notice results immediately after the treatment, but collagen remodeling occurs over 2–3 months, and this process can continue for up to 6 months.
-
How many treatment sessions are typically needed?
-
A single treatment can be effective.
However, if you wish to maintain the results, it is recommended to undergo periodic treatments, typically once every six months.
-
Is it safe for tanned skin?
-
The treatment can be performed on all skin tones, but immediately after sun exposure, the skin may be more sensitive and prone to unexpected side effects.
It is recommended to wait until your tan has subsided before undergoing the procedure.
